Colour demosaic test images
These images were taken with a Canon G3 with equal aperture and shutter time.
The contrast/colour balance of the Raw image was tweaked to look approximately
like the Canon Jpeg by applying a gamma of 0.45, and reducing the red
intensity to produce more faithful yellows (though note there is still a cyan
colour cast). Note the highlights are less compressed than the camera Jpeg
(The camera probably applies an "S" curve, like film). The resulting minor
contrast differences are not considered relevant here.
Top or left: Raw file, converted using the "1/2 pixel shift" method combined with
bilinear interpolation, then
sharpened in the Luminance channel.
Bottom or right: jpeg from camera, 50 ISO, colour balance Cloudy.
